HanseMerkur Grund Vermögen AG acquires fifth property for Rhineland funds
Hamburg, October 22nd, 2020. HanseMerkur Grundvermögen AG has acquired a new office building in Langenfeld for its special real estate fund HMG Grundwerte Rheinland, which is leased to TOMRA Systems GmbH on a long-term basis.
Langenfeld, with around 60,000 inhabitants, is located in the middle of the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region and benefits from the short distances to Düsseldorf and Cologne as well as the very good transport connections.
The 4,700 m² property, certified with DGNB Gold, was completed in 2019. It is located in an office and commercial park with numerous companies from a wide variety of promising industries (pharmaceuticals, logistics, electronics, IT, etc.). The entire building is rented long-term to TOMRA Systems GmbH, an internationally operating company in the field of recycling (development of waste sorting systems, reverse vending machines, etc.).
Katja Kirste, Head of Portfolio Management at HanseMerkur Grundvermögen AG: “Our HMG Grundwerte Rheinland fund has already invested in Cologne, Bonn and Monheim and has been developing extremely well since it was launched in 2017. The Langenfeld property is an attractive addition to the portfolio, for which we are still looking for suitable properties in the economically strong Rhineland. ”
For Marco Lages, Managing Director of GKB GmbH & Co., the construction of this building, taking into account the DGNB certification, was a promising option, “as we, as general contractors and project developers with more than 45 years of construction experience, are very happy to adapt to the changing times and both ecologically as well as employee-friendly aspects when constructing our buildings. ”
